Nowadays teenagers are completely different from old generations. They not only have opinion about certain issues, otherwise they feel free to express it. That’s a good thing because things are changing, and we can’t pretend that nothing is happening in our society.
Adolescents in Chile are claiming on what politicians are doing about bills related to Education. Two years ago, we could see how the whole country supported them when students demanded to have a big educational change, that was because things were not working on public schools. Now, two years after that, we can say that things have not changed at all. Authorities have tried to improve some aspects but it has not been enough.
As a future teacher, this is an important matter in my professional life. All the changes made in this topic will have a consequence in my future, and in the future of all Chilean people because Education is something that concerns everyone, and not matter where you belong.
We all know that through education our country can reach a better development, and government must invest money and time for getting good results.
From that point of view, students have to be heard. They are fighting for something that they believe is better for everyone who lives in Chile. And I have the same feeling that they have showed, we have to fight until things really change.
